For a while it looked as if he could be in for an embarrassing last place finish but luckily Engelbert Humperdinck managed to avoid total humiliation tonight. The 76-year-old crooner opened the 57th Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan with a performance of his ballad Love Will Set You Free and although he had hoped to break the curse of opening acts failing to win, unfortunately it just wasn't his night.
