Revenge is sweet as this male tiger quickly found out.

After doing all the hard work of capturing and killing a gazelle, the tigress understandably became upset when her dinner was stolen from right under her nose by a cheeky younger male.
She knew she was playing with fire when she decided to get her revenge but that didn't stop her from getting her dinner back. The tigress waited for her stronger and agile rival to return to her territory for a second time before pouncing on him.

Squaring up: The tigress (pictured right) launches in for the attack and takes on her opponent using the full force of her body weight.

During the short but ferocious battle, the tigress used her whole body weight to scare off the larger cat.

She then took him completely by surprise and attacked him with her right paw.
The intense seven second attack was enough to send the food thief scurrying off.

The incredible moment was captured on camera at the Ranthambhore National Park in Rajasthan, India, by wildlife photographer Dhritiman Mukherjee.

Dhritiman, 37, said: 'This tiger entered into the territory of the old female on that day and stole the kill which was done by the female in the morning. But nothing happened.

'I was expecting something in the evening so I went to the same area and found both the tiger and tigress resting in two sides of the road.
'We predicted they would meet at that point, and they came in front of us and started fighting.

'The fight was deadly and the male was so powerful that female could die easily.'

It's a knockout: The tigress (facing the camera) strikes one final time with her right paw before the male beast scurries off
