A man whose car was driven over by an 18-wheeler has told how he incredibly walked away with just a few scratches.

Eddie Percy Jr was driving on Interstate 80 between Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska, yesterday afternoon when his car ended up completely smashed under the semitrailer.

'I literally looked up at my roof and saw it was a semi,' said Mr Percy who was driving to visit his son.

Crushed: Eddie Percy Jr was driving on Interstate 80 between Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska, yesterday afternoon when his car was driven over

'I'm like, "Wow, I just survived that," because I just don't see how that was possible.'

Police said that they believe the semitrailer's driver veered off onto the right shoulder and hit some loose gravel.

'He started to go down in that, he overcorrected and went over to the barriers, actually,' Sergeant Tim Salmen told local station KETV.

'It's a miracle that no one was seriously hurt from this.'

Rescue: Miraculously the driver survived with just scratches

Mr Percy described how the semi suddenly drove over his car. 'One second he was over there and the next second I was against the railes,' he told the TV station.

'So yeah it's pretty intense.'

He added: 'I thank God that I'm OK and that I still have another chance to see my son now.'
